Kevin Everett, Buffalo Bills’ tight-end, sustained a "catastrophic" and life-threatening spinal-cord injury in Buffalo's season opener against Denver on Sunday. “A best-case scenario is full recovery, but not likely," orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Andrew Cappuccino said the day after performing a four-hour operation on the player. He noted that 25-year-old Everett end did have touch sensation throughout his body and also showed signs of movement but cautioned that Everett's injury remained life-threatening. Everett is currently sedated and on a respirator. A break between the third and fourth vertebrae was repaired during surgery. Everett is aware of the extent of his injuries.
