4-year-old Andrew Packard is receiving rabies shots after a squirrel repeatedly bit and scratched him while playing at Cuesta Park in Mountain View, California last week. The attack isn’t the first one reported at the park; as many as 6 people have been attacked by squirrels since May. The attacks have become more aggressive in the last month. The city is planning to start trapping and euthanizing the aggressive tree squirrels; wildlife supporters oppose the unusual measure. The squirrels' behavior has led to fear they might be rabid; officials said that is unlikely because rabies in tree squirrels is rare.
