Iowa woman pleads guilty to fraud
Lindsey Eakes, a 24-year-old woman accused of racking up at least $22,000 in charges on another person's credit card and using false doctors' documents, has pleaded guilty to insurance fraud, third-degree theft and forgery. The fraud and forgery charges carry up to five years in prison and fines of up to $7,500. The theft charge carries up to two years in prison and fines of $6,250. Eakes told the judge that she created doctors' notes to file a workers' compensation claim. She also made purchases and deposits into her bank account with another woman's credit card and credit card checks.
