SCO gets a fresh breath of air

The SCO Group, Inc. has reached an agreement with SNCP and unnamed Middle Eastern partners to provide the embattled software company as much as $100 million and make it private after emerging from Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The SCO Group's board of directors has approved the transaction, and the company should exit bankruptcy "in the coming year.” The SCO Group sells a version of Unix that never achieved the popularity of rival products from companies such as IBM or Sun Microsystems. The SCO Group was formerly called Caldera Systems and Caldera International. Caldera Systems, based in Utah, was founded in 1994
