WoW reaches 10 million subscriber mark
World of Warcraft has reached 10 million subscribers, with North America accounting for 2.5 million; Europe with 2 million; and Asia with 5.5 million. The figure includes those who have paid subscription fees, have an active prepaid card, are within their first free month after purchasing the game, or have logged into the game from an Internet cafe within the last 30 days. The figures exclude expired subscriptions, or those playing under free promotional accounts. Blizzard noted that WoW’s first expansion, The Burning Crusade, is the fastest-selling PC game of all time, moving 2.4 million copies on its first day.
