On Sunday, the US government identified the Border Patrol agent killed after being struck by a vehicle that had illegally entered the country from Mexico. The victim was 32-year-old Senior Patrol Agent Luis Aguilar who is a husband and a father of two. Reports indicate he was trying to stop a suspected smuggler and was hit by a vehicle as he placed spike strips on the path of a hummer that was accompanied by a Ford pickup truck. Both vehicles reportedly fled back into Mexico. The incident happened in the Imperial San Dunes Recreation Area at around 9AM on Saturday.
