Sony Computer Entertainment has officially announced Skype functionality for the PlayStation Portable – but only on PSP Slim and Light models. The company notes that Skype currently has around 246 million members using the service on their PCs, all of whom will be reachable for free through the new service. All of the features and settings will be accessed from the PSP itself when a Skype icon is added to the PSP's XMB after a firmware update expected later this month. Features and services that will be available include: free Skype to Skype voicecalls; Skype contact list management; and Skype presence.
