Sony Computer Entertainment America announced it has sold more than 3.9 million PlayStation hardware (PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable) in North America during the holidays. From Black Friday, November 23 to December 31, 2007, PS3 retail sales reached 1.2 million units, the PS2 sold around 1.3 million and the PSP moved 1.4 million units. “The PlayStation brand ended the year in a very strong position and clearly indicates more positive momentum going into 2008,” SCEA president and CEO Jack Tretton said. “Consumers are clearly responding to the expanding multimedia capabilities and a great line-up of over 200 games.”
