On Wednesday, an 85-year-old motorist lost his license and Oldsmobile for a week and is likely facing a hefty fine after being snagged by a new Ontario anti-street racing law. He was driving at 100 mph, 40 mph over the posted speed limit on a highway north of Toronto. Under the new provincial legislation, drivers who exceed the speed limit by 31 mph or more stands to lose both their vehicle and license for a week, along with a fine of at least $2002. Although the man was not racing, he faces the same consequences for speeding at that rate.
