Nitro City, West Virginia Mayor Rusty Casto wants to increase the amount city employees pay for their health insurance. At a City Council Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Casto plans to ask the city council to approve the increase, which would help the city cope with its current financial crisis. Employees would be asked to pay 10% of their health insurance costs. City Councilman Tim Harrison said he estimates that, with the increase, employees would expect to pay anywhere from $50 to $70 a month for their health insurance. Nitro City Employees currently pay $25 a month for their health insurance.
