Ubisoft officially announced Thursday that Far Cry 2 will be released for the Xbox 360 and that a PlayStation 3 edition was in the works as well. The first person shooter was previously announced as a PC exclusive in July 2007. Far Cry 2 will not be using Crytek’s CryEngine, the same graphics engine used in Crysis. Ubisoft said they are developing a new engine called Dunia. Along with the new graphics engine, the game will feature open world gameplay and African environments. The game is expected to ship in fiscal 2009, or April 1, 2008, to March 31, 2009.
