At around 10:20AM on Wednesday, 63-year-old David Acosta from San Bernardino County in Southern California was hit by a train at Moorpark’s Metrolink station. Authorities say he stood on the station’s center platform while waiting for a train. Apparently, he stood too close to the tracks when a train came into the station. The Amtrak engineer reported he blew the horn but Acosta did not move far enough from the tracks and the train could not stop fast enough to avoid him. Acosta was taken to a local hospital where he remains in the intensive care unit for critical injuries.
