Vancouver apartment hit by veteran pilot unlivable for weeks
105 units in the Richmond apartment tower hit by an aircraft remain uninhabitable. Residents were allowed back inside to retrieve pets and belongings, but it could take over a month before they can resume habitation. The collision has damaged the building’s infrastructure and caused significant water damage. Five units directly affected are completely off-limits. Peter Garrison, the 82-year old pilot, first flew in World War II. Residents of the tower have been put up in nearby hotels for six nights, but some without nearby friends and family or tenant’s insurance may have to rely on help from the Red Cross.
