In the scene where Susan, Teri Hatcher’s character, was diagnosed with menopause, she replied by saying "Okay, before we go any further, can I check these diplomas? Just to make sure they aren't, like, from some med school in the Philippines?” ABC has issued a public apology in response to an online petition that was signed by over 30,000 Filipino and Filipino-American individuals as of Wednesday evening. The network also said that it was considering editing the episode for future broadcast.
